Caring

Autumn rolls into Winter rolls into Spring rolls into Summer. They come back each year, but eventually, for each of us, one year they will not.

So many strive for money, for assets, for power, for fame or a long list of friends or social media contacts. We will not be judged by how many people like us. These are all driven by the self, the ego, and in the end will count for nothing. When the time comes we will all be judged by what we did for others. How much effort we made, how much we gave of ourselves to help and love other people in need of help, genuinely and not as an 'investment'. I know what it is like to give 100% of all you have to help someone in need, if not more, I have done it many times, but I have never heard of a rich person do that, the 0.1% they may occasionally give pales against poor people who give nearly all they have. That is why many people remain poor. We will be judged by the empathy we showed for others, consideration of the effect our actions have on other peoples lives. We will be judged by the unconditional kindness we showed towards others, both friends and strangers, without judging if they deserved it. We will be judged by the actions we take, not by hollow words and promises we don't deliver on.

It can take many years of doing to achieve this. Too many say the words, but don't actually do the actions. None of us know when our end will come. When we are young we think we will live forever, and everyone around us will, and everything will work out. But it won't unless we start living a life of kindness, empathy and Love long before we get to the end, because when we do it will be too late to change if we haven't.
