What was I supposed to have learned?

My experience started with a "vision" on a normal day whilst tidying my bedroom. I was suddenly transported to another place and time - 17th century France. I was aware of my very different body shape (I am tall and lanky, the vision showed me as petite and dainty dressed appropriately for that time in history). The vision lasted several minutes - I had been darning a peice of needlework on a frame (typical of its time) and the tortoisehell handled crochet hook was still in my hand (I should add I do no such work in "this" life). I was drawn outside the house to the gardens where a small river passed and a man on horseback beckoned towards me telling me (in French) that he couldn't wait until our marriage day - 18th May. The following day I met him at work - we both stopped dead in our tracks and couldn't speak or walk properly because the electricity was so thick. Others in the room left because they sensed something "spooky" happening. We eventually became firm friends and just like all the other comments raised here - we were as one - we "knew" each other inside out, finished each other's sentences and had trouble concentrating on anything. We were both in relationships and despite a physical attraction we remained sensible and conducted ourselves well (despite all the gossips!). He even produced the crochet hook from my vision one day - he said he found it under his bed and had never seen it before. Plus, his wedding anniversay with his wife was the 18th May (a coincidence?). This wonderful relationship lasted a year until one day it suddenly stopped, for no reason. He didn't seem to recognise me, didn't remember our special relationship and acted as though I was just another member of staff. I was horrified and despite questioning him, never found out why. Some 15 years has passed and I live in another country, still with my original partner and perfectly happy. However, I am still suffering from this sudden "rejection" and wondered why this magnificent experience was brought to me. What was I supposed to have learned? Love, Mimi ...Mimi
